The Bay Vegetarian is created with love by outport Newfoundland native, Jenn Brown, and serves to share recipes and meal/lifestyle tips for anyone wanting to follow a vegetarian or vegan diet while living around the bay! Here you can learn a few things about how to have a balanced diet, about what “vegan” and “vegetarian” means, plus Jenn grew up really loving to cook and wanted to share the outport love with you all! Note- Jenn isn’t a professional cook by any means (she does have some really talented chef friends), but does love sharing food and stories with friends.
It’s tricky to find the ingredients in many typical vegan/veg cookbooks if you’re living in rural Newfoundland, and sometimes hard to know where to start if you’re not familiar with vegetarian cooking, but we’re giving you ideas that are very bay-friendly, healthy (for the most part!) and delicious! The idea is to share this blog with your family who doesn’t know what to feed you when you go home to visit, or for your friend who wants to be more adventurous with her food. Forward the link to a b&b so that they can feed you right while vacationing, try some recipes at home yourself or cook up a feed for your hipster vegan nan- whatever!
